It is no secret that much lies beneath present day Athens. Thousands of years of civilizations have been built up and torn down and reconstructed on the land of Greece's capital city. It has become evident that the more people dig the more they will find. This begs the question: how have the Greeks managed to continue to unveil the past without disrupting present life too much? While in some cases it has been deemed necessary to force people out of an area to dig, there are compromises that have already been made. Not only are these locations great solutions to letting life continue moving forward while honoring the past, they are some of the hidden gems of Athens. So follow along some of the Athens Metro Lines with us in the same order we experienced it as we explore the inside of different stations and some of the surrounding area to see how history is still being unveiled and preserved while life continues moving forward.
